There is a lot of regulation about what you can and cannot carry in your hand luggage when you travel by plane. Moreover, the rules change sometimes in response to attacks or terrorism. The question we answer in this article is: can you bring your beard trimmer in your carry on when you fly?
TSA rules: your hand baggage must not contain any items with which you can injure someone.
This is not possible with an electric beard trimmer and is therefore not considered dangerous by airlines in the United States.

Special Instructions for Razor Blades
- A classic razor knife is not allowed, because it can serve as a stabbing weapon. Would you like to take this type of knife, then it can be your regular luggage carried in the luggage compartment of the aircraft.
- Safety and disposable razors in a holder are allowed in carry on luggage.
- However, be prepared that you are not allowed to put a large amount of shaving cream in your hand luggage, as this is seen as a liquid.
How to Pack a Beard Trimmer
Make sure the beard trimmer cannot go on & off in your hand luggage. Good packaging is always useful; the original packaging is recommended but you could always stuff it in a pair of shoes or socks.
Can I carry electric shaver in hand luggage?
No blade allowed. If you have disposable razors or replacement blades, they can go in both your carry-on and checked bags. If you have a straight razor, they can also be packed in one of your bags.

Does deodorant count as a liquid?
Stick deodorants are not considered liquids and are instead considered aerosols or gel packs. In addition, gel or spray deodorants do count toward the security checkpoint’s liquids limit. The 3-1-1 Rule by the Transportation Security Administration allows carry-on bag holders to bring 1 to 1 quart-sized containers of various cosmetic products into the checkpoint.
What size shaving cream can I take on a plane?
All your shaving creams, gels, and lotions are to be placed in one single quart-sized ziplock plastic bag for carry-on bags. Solid food items such as fruits, vegetables, and meat can be transported in carry-on or checked bags. These items should not be placed in containers that are larger than 3.4 oz.
Can I take tweezers in hand luggage?
Although it’s not allowed to carry them on board, tweezers can be packed in hand luggage and taken to a plane by passengers. Since toothpaste is usually sold in the liquid or gel form, the size of the tube is limited to 6 ounces.
